Fuerteventura Carnival 2026: quick guide to get organized
If you are in Lanzarote and fancy crossing over to the Fuerteventura Carnival, the most comfortable way is to arrive by ferry to Corralejo. From there you have two clear options: north plan (easy, no car) or capital plan (Puerto del Rosario) when the main day comes. Here is a practical guide with key dates, how to get there by ferry and ready-made plans to make the most of the day (or weekend).
Fuerteventura carnival dates
In Fuerteventura each municipality has its own Carnival, so the ideal is to choose by dates:
- Antigua + Caleta de Fuste: from February 4th to 14th (Antigua from 4 to 8 and Caleta on 13 and 14). (Theme: 'Cultures and Places of the World' ).
- Puerto del Rosario: from February 6th to 22nd (Achipencos: February 15th, 13:00 h).
- Corralejo (La Oliva) - 'Carnival of Carnivals': from March 5th to 15th (Latin America theme).
- South (Morro Jable / Costa Calma / La Lajita - Pájara): from March 6th to 22nd (Disney theme).

I've arrived in Corralejo... what do I do now?
Corralejo is perfect because you get off the ferry and you are already in an area with a great atmosphere, restaurants and an easy plan. From there, you can choose 'north mode' or 'capital mode' Carnival.Plan 1: Daytime Carnival in Corralejo (ideal for a day trip)
Perfect if you go with friends or family and don't want to complicate things.- You arrive in Corralejo and have breakfast in the center.
- You immerse yourself in the atmosphere: street parades, music, murgas, comparsas... (depending on the day).
- Early dinner and return on the ferry (without rushing).
Plan 2: Puerto del Rosario 'full Carnival mode'
If you are into galas, the main parade and the big atmosphere, Puerto del Rosario usually takes the prize in February. How to organize it without going crazy:
- Choose a day with a main event (parade or main night) and improvise the rest.
- If you can stay a night, even better: you see the main event and the next day you return calmly to Corralejo for the ferry.
Quick tips to enjoy a good Carnival
- Costume yes, but comfortable: sneakers and a light jacket (Fuerteventura is Fuerteventura).
- If you go with kids: afternoon/children's events and 'Daytime Carnival' are better.
- If you go at night: agree on a meeting point (with so many people it is easy to get separated).
- If you return the same day: don't leave it to the last minute, Carnival + port + rushing never turns out well.
Book and you're all set
Once you have a clear date (February for the capital/Antigua or March for Corralejo), the rest is easy: ferry, costume and enthusiasm.
