Our Team: Melquiades Romero, Captain of the Alexandro R.

Behind every journey between Lanzarote, La Graciosa, or Fuerteventura, there is a human story that gives meaning to what we are at Líneas Romero. Today we want to share the story of Melquiades Romero, current captain of the Alexandro R vessel, who has been sailing with us for over two decades. A career that perfectly represents the values that define us: tradition and innovation.

A Life Among Waves

Melquiades is the fourth generation of a family tied to navigation and is part of the soul of our company. He started as a sailor 24 years ago, and for the past 18 years, he has been leading crews with the same determination and vocation he learned from a young age.

More Than Transportation, a Human Experience

In such a special environment as ours, the human factor is everything. People like Melquiades make it possible for our journeys to be more than just trips, but authentic experiences at sea.

Thanks to his dedication, professionalism, and warmth, every passenger feels like part of something bigger. Because at Líneas Romero, we don’t just navigate routes, we navigate connections.

Technology and Tradition, Hand in Hand

The Líneas Romero fleet has evolved over the years to offer more modern, comfortable, and safe vessels. The Alexandro R, which Melquiades now captains, is a clear example of this commitment to innovation. But what hasn’t changed is our commitment to close and personalized attention.

We know that the difference isn’t just made by the vessel, but how we navigate it. And Melquiades knows this well: with professionalism, care, and the same pioneering spirit that moved the oars back in 1930, when it all began.

A Pillar in Our Social Work

Through the Líneas Romero Foundation, we also want to pay tribute to people like Melquiades. Because without their daily commitment, it would be impossible to sustain our social purpose: contributing to a more inclusive, fair, and sustainable society.

They are the pillars that keep the course steady, both at sea and on land.

Thank You, Team

Sometimes, just looking at those who have spent a lifetime at sea is enough to understand that the right course is charted with commitment and passion. Thank you, Melquiades, for being an example.
